If you've Googled Clé Rouge Immobilier, you may have seen a really nasty, malicious and libellous blog about our estate agency in SW France.
Apart from being illiterate and full of grammatical & spelling errors, it's pretty obvious that this was posted by one of our competitors, who has been waging an unpleasant war against us for several years.
This other agency likes to tell people that we are operating illegally, whereas in fact we have a perfectly legitimate Carte Professionelle and are painstaking to always act within the French regulations, and with more professionalism than any other agency you'll find.
The blog also makes some unpleasant comments about two of our directors, Jerry & Caroline Green, accusing them of only being friendly to people who buy properties from the agency !
Actually, we try to be really friendly & welcoming to everyone, and a very large number of people who have bought houses from us have subsequently become valued friends or close acquaintances.
We have tried to get the blog removed, but Google claim that their Blogger site is "like a wall on which someone has painted grafitti"; they say that they are not responsible for anything that is posted on it, and will only remove an item on receipt of a court order.
So someone could post a blog saying whatever they want to about you (for example, something really slanderous such as accusing you of being a child molester?), and you could not get it removed without spending several months/years and thousands of Pounds in legal fees! Even then, Google will only give you the URL of the person who posted it, so you'd have to then take that person to court.
